A group of committed individuals gathered in the fall of 2002 to form a home for women in Colorado Springs, who had recently been released from incarceration, or were homeless and had no safe place to go. Liza’s Place operates as a transitional housing facility that has the ability to serve 20 women.

The approximate duration of the program is six months, unless special circumstances dictate longer. The residents live in a home like environment. During their stay, women:

• Find and maintain full-time employment,
• Become an active member of a church of their choice,
• Develop money management and budgeting skills, and
• Begin establishing new and healthy personal relationships and a viable support system.
